BioC Asia is returning December 1-2, 2022 and this year we'll be running a hybrid event!
The in-person event will be held in Melbourne, Australia as a satellite event to the Australian Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Society (ABACBS) annual conference. If you are not able to attend in-person, you can still present or participate by registering as a virtual attendee. The conference will be run over 2 afternoon sessions from Melbourne, which should provide the best access for virtual attendance across the wide range of time zones in the Asia-Pacific region.
Registrations and abstract submissions are now open:
- Registration: https://www.abacbs.org/registration#!event-register/2022/11/28/abacbs-2022
- Abstract submissions for a talk or software demo: https://pheedloop.com/ABACBS2022/proposal/start/?call=CALGZDPQQ6NQ68Y
Abstracts are open until October 30 (please note that abstract submission for other ABACBS satellite events are now closed).
We will soon be opening scholarship applications to provide free registration (in-person or hybrid) to support the attendance of people who cannot afford the registration fee. Scholarship numbers will be limited and priority given to people currently contributing to the Bioconductor project, be it through software development, teaching and training, or other community involvement (e.g., the Bioconductor support forum, Slack group, package reviews).
This will be the eighth Bioconductor Asia meeting, which aims to bring together researchers with an interest in Bioconductor and R to exchange ideas and expertise. We're planning a fun and welcoming hybrid meeting with talks and demos to suit beginners through to more experienced users. This year we are pleased to have Dr Aaron Lun, author of 'Orchestrating Single-Cell Analysis with Bioconductor', developer of too many Bioconductor packages to list here, frequent contributor to the Bioconductor Support Forum, and one of the developers of kana for performing single-cell RNA-seq analysis in the browser! We will also have Lori Shepherd, from the Bioconductor Core Team, as a keynote speaker giving us an update on the project.
