Hej!

I was just upgrading from Bioc 3.7 to 3.8 and by reading the Installation instruction at https://www.bioconductor.org/install, I realised that it might be good if these were extended to:

Detail how one can migrate from a previous version to the next; i.e. running BiocManager::install(version="3.8") at present to move from 3.7 to 3.8
Add more details about the version argument, in particular adding a section to explain how to switch back from "devel" to "current" would be a good use case

Hi Nico,

Thank you for your feedback. We have made a small adjustment to theinstall page on Bioconductor.org. The pull request can be seen here: https://github.com/Bioconductor/bioconductor.org/pull/18

To (sort of) answer your question, we have detailed how to do 1 and 2 in the vignette and we hope that by putting it in the install page, the BiocManager vignette will be more visible.

Hej Marcel! Thanks for the quick feedback. And yes, that solution works for me. I had actually not thought that BiocManager would have a vignette; I just pictured it like a wrapper around install.packages; my bad.
