Hi,

We use EBImage for image processing, analysis and cellular feature extraction for cancer research.  We run the program against thousands of images at a time, and though we use the doMC library for parallel processing over a decent number of cores, we still experience performance/speed issues.  I was wondering if anyone has experience speeding up or optimizing EBImage for peak performance.  I recognize that this is a fairly broad question without any specific code to examine, but we are looking for general best practices or tricks that can help us shave minutes or even hours off of our EBImage process.  .

Thanks,

Tony

Did you read the help page of [Robust and Efficient Code](https://bioconductor.org/developers/how-to/efficient-code/) and followed its recommendations? (Mainly use vectorized functions) Could you show a profiling of the code to see where are the bottlnecks of your performance?
