We are looking for people interested in working full-time, or as interns or post-docs, with the Bioconductor Core Team at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center in Buffalo!
Bioconductor (https://bioconductor.org) is a large collection of R software packages for the statistical analysis and comprehension of high-throughput genomic data. Bioconductor is open source and open development, with more than 1800 R packages written and contributed by the core team and more than 1200 domain experts from around the world. Bioconductor is widely used (more than 1/2 million unique IP downloads annually) and highly respected (35,000 PubMedCentral citations); it is supported by several federal grants, with long-term financial stability.
Individual projects are flexible but offer unique opportunities to develop novel algorithms and other aspects of scientific software to support high-throughput genomic analysis. The work is in R, with additional opportunities in C, C++ , workflow, and other programming paradigms. Bioconductor infrastructure systems are often integrated though ruby, python, bash, AWS, etc., which also provide opportunity for applicants looking for system administration, devops, or web development work. Individuals with an interest in scalable cloud-based analysis of large public genomic data resources are particularly encouraged to apply.
