Hi Yan, It seems to me that R is not able to open a connection. You should try setting the variable: Sys.putenv("http_proxy" = "http://127.0.0.1:8228") the "http://127.0.0.1:8228" is the configuration for my mac, you should check your system for the right proxy and port. best r On 15 November 2010 12:19, Yan Jiao <y.jiao@ucl.ac.uk> wrote: > Hi bioconductor guru, > > > > > I was trying to use aroma.affymetrix package on my windows machine, I'm > using R 2.11.0, and I typed: > > > source("http://aroma-project.org/hbLite.R") > > > > I got: > > Error in file(file, "r", encoding = encoding) : > > cannot open the connection > > In addition: Warning message: > > In file(file, "r", encoding = encoding) : > > cannot open: HTTP status was '404 Not Found' > > > > many thanks > > > > Yan > > > ********************************************************************** > This email and any files transmitted with it are confide...{{dropped:10}} > > _______________________________________________ > Bioconductor mailing list > Bioconductor@stat.math.ethz.ch > https://stat.ethz.ch/mailman/listinfo/bioconductor > Search the archives: > http://news.gmane.org/gmane.science.biology.informatics.conductor > [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

The aroma-project.org maintainer may need to fix the issue on the server side. Thank you for the report and the troubleshooting. http://aroma-project.org/hbLite.R should now be there again (the poor file got forgotten about when the web server was updated yesterday). /Henrik aroma-project.org) On Mon, Nov 15, 2010 at 5:32 AM, Sean Davis <sdavis2 at="" mail.nih.gov=""> wrote: > > > On Mon, Nov 15, 2010 at 8:28 AM, Ren?
