Dear List I've a generic question about Gene 1.0St arrays not strictly related to bioconductor analysis. I'm new to Gene 1.0 St chips. Utilizing oneChannelGUi I've obtained the normalized expression (GCRMA) for my probesets. With biomart each probeset was remapped to the corresponding gene Now : In order to obtain the global gene expression is it sufficient to compute the median of the expressions of all the probeset mapped on a gene? thank you very much Guido [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Dear Guido, I too recently analyzed my first mouse gene 1.0 ST arrays. I used the oligo package. You have an option to compute directly the "transcript" signal in the oligo::rma function. Vignette 05 provide an example. http://www.bioconductor.org/packages/release/bioc/html/oligo.html David --- David Ruau, Ph.D. Postdoc Butte + Angst Labs Div.
