Dear list I'm trying to install preprocessCore but everytime i retrieve the following error message: /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -llapack collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [preprocessCore.so] Error 1 ERROR: compilation failed for package ‘preprocessCore’ * removing ‘/home/guido/R/x86_64-pc-linux-gnu- library/2.13/preprocessCore’ I suppose that the error is related to the lack of lapack library, but I'm sure that this library is installed and tested on my 64bit machine here is also my sessionInfo output R version 2.13.1 (2011-07-08) Platform: x86_64-pc-linux-gnu (64-bit) locale: [1] LC_CTYPE=it_IT.UTF-8 LC_NUMERIC=C [3] LC_TIME=it_IT.UTF-8 LC_COLLATE=it_IT.UTF-8 [5] LC_MONETARY=C LC_MESSAGES=it_IT.UTF-8 [7] LC_PAPER=it_IT.UTF-8 LC_NAME=C [9] LC_ADDRESS=C LC_TELEPHONE=C [11] LC_MEASUREMENT=it_IT.UTF-8 LC_IDENTIFICATION=C attached base packages: [1] stats graphics grDevices utils datasets methods base loaded via a namespace (and not attached): [1] tcltk_2.13.1 tools_2.13.1 thank you very much for any kind of help you could provide to a newbie R user Guido [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

The 'easiest' solution is probably to re-install R, taking the opportunity to update to 2-14.
