'Subscript out of bounds' comes up for instance when sub setting a matrix outside of its extent > m = matrix(0, 5, 5) > m[,6] Error: subscript out of bounds maybe that provides you with a hint as to what's going wrong; for others to help (on the R-help mailing list) they'd need a reproducible example, maybe generating a small example of 'mydata' that illustrates the error.
