The CRAN page shows a publish date of 2012-01-17, so maybe its no longer being maintained. Anybody know if this will be updated for R 3.1.2?

Why are you asking about a CRAN package on the Bioconductor support site? You should be asking on R-help or asking David James directly.

I am assuming you are running the Mavericks build of R. I think the answer is that the mantainer of the CRAN build machine for Mavericks has not yet installed MySQL, so the RMySQL build fails.
