is it possible to set up a list of preferred mirrors? And with the order of preference?

In my Rprofile I have it but if the mirror is unavailable then biocLite fails - strange is it's incapable of falling-over to other or main repo.

my profile:

options(BioC_mirror = "my URL")

No, there's no failover. biocLite() uses install.packages() which doesn't have this functionality.
