The Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute (CRUK) is looking for a highly motivated Computational Biologist to join the Computational Biology Support Team. The Computational Biology Support Team is responsible for the initial pre-processing and analysis of datasets generated by in-house sequencing and proteomics facilities.
The post holder will work with scientists at CRUKMI to support the analysis of their bioinformatics data. The successful candidate will establish analysis pipelines and apply appropriate statistical methods to the analysis of high-throughput datasets generated from next generation sequencing (NGS) platforms such as RNA-seq, smallRNA-seq, ChIP-seq, targeted/exome/whole genome sequencing.
The ideal candidate should have a PhD in Computational Biology/Bioinformatics, Applied statistics or related discipline (e.g. Computer Science or Physics). The successful candidate will have significant expertise in the analysis of complex genomics/NGS datasets. Familiarity with proteomics data is desirable.
