The teaching committee is happy to announce the forthcoming Bioconductor teaching week.

The goal is to discuss and gather community input about the teaching and education needs of the Bioconductor community and how to plan our future activities and efforts accordingly. The teaching committee has been meeting monthly since July 2020, is working on several Carpentries-style lessons, and will organise an in-person workshop in Heidelberg in September.

Among topics we plan to discuss during 1-hour sessions:

  • Educational needs and ideas
  • What community resources do you use?
  • What resources are missing?
  • What is the best learning resource/experience you know?
  • What was the hardest thing you had to learn to do in Bioconductor?
  • What should we focus on in the coming years in terms of teaching and education?
  • Which platforms do you prefer for learning by yourself? (In person, video, flipped, books, hybrid,…)
  • If you teach, which platforms and media have worked well for you?
