Entering edit mode
You'll notice that interface to the support site has been updated. The interface is simpler and more consistent, with major changes that include:
- User-specific information is in a blue bar at the top of the page, main action items are centered with the Bioconductor logo
- 'OPEN' and 'INSTALL' action items are no longer available.
- The 'live' search is not available; all searches use 'classic' mode. We'll continue to offer just a single search mode, hopefully with consistent presentation of the search results.
- 'Limit', 'Sort' and search post, tag, and / or user functionality is presented in a more consistent fashion; ability to move to between pages of posts is available at the bottom of the page.
- Recent replies, awards, visits, etc on the right-hand side have been reduced in number and extent, providing useful information without too much clutter.
- Tags, inline code chunks, and other elements have been styled to be more consistent across the site

Great changes indeed! Much better/cleaner than before. That being said, I find the lack of alignment between the text in the Bioconductor banner and the text for the action items disturbing... It may be just me, so surely that does not warrant opening an issue?

You can add the search to the post pages as well. On the main biostars site this is not enabled due some sort of unfortunate interaction between the live search javascript and editor itself.
One observation, the search bar does not have a submit button, one can press enter to do the search but the lack of a submit button could confuse some users. Maybe a 'Go button would help.
Thanks for the tip, I've added a search bar to the individual post pages. I don't think I'll add a Go button -- I felt cheated when I discovered I could just hit the return key and didn't have to do a mouse click. A little confusing when searching for tags, where the return key completes the tag rather than initiates the search...
Can we add back the 'open' button? It's nice to be able to subset to just those questions that have yet to be answered.
The 'Limit' drop-down menu now has an option to restrict visible posts to 'Unanswered'
