The Cambridge Centre for Proteomics (CCP) is currently looking to recruit a Research Data Technician within its core facility unit. The core facility offers proteomics services to users from the University of Cambridge and other worldwide academic and industrial groups.

The successful candidate will be required to analyse proteomics data using standard proteomic packages including Proteome Discoverer, Mascot and Scaffold and apply common statistical methods to datasets. Some degree of programming literacy is essential, preferably R/Bioconductor. The role-holder will be an integral member of CCP and will need to interact closely with other members of CCP and internal and external users of the service to provide interpretation of results from complex datasets.

The successful candidate will have a first degree in computer or biological sciences or statistics and previous experience in working with high throughput mass spectrometry data sets would be advantageous.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 2 years in the first instance.
